Pre martial counselling or Pre-marriage counseling is for both the prospective boy and girl who are about to get married, in other words  this is counselling before marriage. This is mostly focused on the misconceptions about marriage, relationship, In laws Mostly with wrong notions about mother in law and sister in law the girls are entering into  another family. Similarly the boy’s also has certain expectation and wants quick alignment  of the wife towards him , his parents and his family culture, when problem comes they do not know how to tackle and they tackle  in their own way or they go into depression.

One may ask why pre martial counseling is required now, because in the present generation the divorce rate is increasing, majority of the divorce cases comes within the first one year of marriage, Bys and girls enter into the marriage with lot of assumption, like girl think she can adjust and manage the mother  very quickly, but finds a big gap, the boy want a quick alignment the girl with this parents, he has poor concept of  tolerance, that she has left her parents, surroundings and her style of living. this takes time for her to adjust, she needs her space, the relationship should not only be be give and take like a commercial service  there is also an element of sacrifice,until hey beget children they will not know the value of sacrifice

The whole first year can be called as an attraction phase, may be physical or social. once the attraction phase is over  which generally takes one to 1. 5 years. the empathy phase develops where they start appreciating there mistakes and attempt to understand each other.
